How can we combat online hate speech at national level together? How do we incorporate European policy recommendations and practical efforts?

Session description

Taking Georgia as an example, this flash session reflect on the roles of different national stakeholders, how to get them involved and the types of actions that should be taken to combat hate speech online. The session will reflect on the experiences of the newly established national Internet Governance forum and how to link capacity building and awareness raising projects with national programmes and legislative actions on non-discrimination.

Format

A short presentation on cooperation programmes (past and future) on combatting hate speech in Georgia is followed by brainstorming session with the participants on how to strengthen efforts between different stakeholders.
