Session teaser

What is SEEDIG and what do we do in our attempt to enhance regional dialogue and cooperation on Internet and digital policy issues? What are the main concerns around Internet and digital policy in South Eastern Europe and the neighbouring area? And how can they be addressed? These and other similar issues were discussed at SEEDIG 5, in May 2019, in Bucharest. Join us for this short session and we will tell you what we found out. Your views will be welcome, too.

Session description

The session aims to discuss the results of the fifth annual meeting of the South Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance (SEEDIG), which was held on 7–8 May 2019, in Bucharest, Romania. We will start with a brief overview of the meeting and the key messages from the discussions on Internet and digital policy realities and challenges in SEE and neighbouring countries. And we would also want to hear the views about SEEDIG as a process, about the annual meetings, the intersessional activities and about the future of the initiative. Linkages between SEEDIG and other IGF initiatives (the global IGF, EuroDIG, and national IGFs from the region) will be discussed as well.

Format

A brief overview of SEEDIG and the SEEDIG 5 meeting, followed by open discussions with participants.
