Michael previously served as:
- EuroDIG 2021: Focus Session 1: Green IG and sustainability organising team member
- EuroDIG 2020: Co-moderator and organising team member for Plenary 4
- EuroDIG 2019: Co-focal point for WS 8 and Plenary 7, as well as an organising team member of WS 12
- EuroDIG 2018: Organising team member of EDU 3 and organiser of Flash 10: Right to be Forgotten
- EuroDIG 2017: Focal point and moderator for WS 11
- EuroDIG 2016: Focal point for WS 1 and organising team member of WS 4
Additionally, he served as a member of the 2018 YOUthDIG programme committee, acted as the youth focal point for cybersecurity during his fellowship to 2017 YOUthDIG, and participated in the 2016 New Media Summer School as a fellow.
