YOUthDIG 2017
The Youth Dialogue on Internet Governance (YOUthDIG) is the youth programme of the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG), and features a two-day, pre-event track that prepares youth participants (between the ages of 18-30) for the EuroDIG process. Participants have the opportunity to:
- Experience peer-learning and networking with youth residing in Europe
- Learn about Internet governance and the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) process
- Discuss and exchange ideas with experienced Internet politics practitioners
- Develop youth messages and present them at EuroDIG and the global UN IGF
YOUthDIG is organised by the EuroDIG Support Association, a Swiss association, in cooperation with the Young Pirates of Europe, which is running a concurrent youth programme called Copyfighters, which is focusing more specifically on copyright. Together, these programmes replace the New Media Summer School (NMSS), which was held in the years prior.
The YOUthDIG programme is partially shaped by the interests of the chosen participants. Although Internet governance and the general IGF process is a required module in the programme, this year's participants were most interested in

People
- Subject Matter Experts (SME)
SMEs are responsible for the clustering of submissions into a thematic category they have an expertise in. They define subtopics and identify submissions which fall under this subtopic. The aim is to verify submissions which can be merged in one session. In the course of the session organising process SMEs will serve as a mentor for the respective category by supporting all Focal Points.

- Focal Points
Focal Points take over the responsibility and lead of the session organisation. Focal Points work in close cooperation with the respective Subject Matter Expert (SME) and the EuroDIG Secretariat. The focal points for each of the topic areas include:

- Media – Daniel Waugh
