*Gergana Petrova is an External Relations Officer at the RIPE NCC. As part of the External Relations team, she helps lead the RIPE NCC's engagement with a broad range of stakeholders, including the RIPE NCC membership, the RIPE community, government, law enforcement and other Internet stakeholders. Gergana also coordinates the RIPE Academic Cooperation Initiative (RACI) – an initiative that connects researchers and academics with the RIPE community.

Working title: Presentations by Participants 1

Session teaser

In the last session, we gave an introduction to the history of the internet, domain names, multistakeholderism and briefly addressed the differences between Brussels, Silicon Valley, Russia, China. This session will built on these concepts and go into more depth about the Internet's rights and principles and look at these from a human rights perspective, bringing it in the context of our current world and we will discuss the nexus between technology and principles.

Format

There will be two interventions of 20 minutes hosted by each of the speakers followed by a discussion. We will then go into breakout rooms in which the participants can discuss with each other the intersection between technology and principles.
