Recent years have shed a spotlight on the importance of empowering youth in governance processes. The European Union (EU) and the Association of South Asian Nations (ASEAN) dedicated 2022 to youth, and the Commonwealth dedicated 2023. The United Nations (UN) Secretary General included in his report Our Common Agenda recommendations for “meaningful, diverse, and effective youth engagement through better political representation, transforming education, skills training, and lifelong learning.” There have been youth events at EuroDIG since it’s the early years and it is time to look back on a decade of youth participation in Europe and beyond.
