This session provides an overview of how artificial intelligence is increasingly used to support or replace human decision‑making in critical public services, including courts, public administrations, employment services, and social benefits. Participants will be presented with real‑world cases where AI systems have raised concerns about transparency, algorithmic bias, and discrimination.
Through presentation of concrete examples and guided explanation, participants will gain a clearer understanding of how AI can unintentionally reproduce or amplify existing inequalities, and what safeguards are necessary.
