Session description

Join us for an engaging session on "Building Resilience through Data Values: Empowering Youth Engagement via Social Media." This interactive workshop aims to empower young people by providing them with the knowledge and skills to utilise data effectively and promote good data practices. Through group discussions and practical exercises, participants will explore challenges in creating educational data value material, strategies for inclusivity, and important topics to be covered through platforms like Reels, TikTok, and carousels. The session will conclude with next steps and opportunities to join the Data Value Advocate programme.

Format

Introduction and Data Value Manifesto (5 minutes)

  • Welcome and overview of workshop objectives
  • Presentation of key principles from the Data Value Manifesto

Utilising Social Media for Data Values (10 minutes)

  • Highlighting the role of social media in empowering youth engagement
  • Demonstrating through educational case study how social media platforms can be utilised effectively
  • Motivation behind this project

Group Discussions: Challenges and Strategies (10 minutes)

  • Participants divided into small groups (both in-person and online)
  • Group discussions on challenges in creating educational data value material
  • Brainstorming strategies for inclusivity and accessibility

Topics for Social Media Content (15 minutes)

  • Identifying important topics to be covered through Reels, TikTok, and carousels
