>> AYANO KUNIMITSU: Honorable members, executive officers, distinguished guests, my name is Anayo Kunimitsu, Parliamentary Vice Minister for Internet Affairs and Communication of Japan. It is a good pleasure and honor for me to say a few words on behalf of our Japanese government.

First, I would like to extend congratulations to the members of EuroDIG as a host of the successful meeting, we’re pleased to be host countries of global IGF this October which will give us a chance to promote an open, free, reliable Internet with a multistakeholder approach. Parliamentary tracks this year, we’re planning to discuss three key areas, which are important for global society, and they are connectivity, online information, and technology. These topics were also discussed at the G7 digital tech Ministers meeting in Japan hosted this year.

G7 members discussed how to ensure reliable connectivity while addressing the digital divide and how to tackle ways online disinformation and we also discussed how to achieve interoperability among AI governance frameworks based on shared democratic barriers.

In particular, G7 leaders asked Ministers to establish an AI process to report on AI. I really look forward for us discussing the important topics with you.

Thank you so much.
