Consolidated programme 2023 overview / Flash 7
TACCU (Tampere Accessibility Unit) is a multidisciplinary unit conducting accessibility-related research and education at the Tampere Universities. Accessibility empowers every person and every organization affecting us all and enables inclusion in the digital society. Our research is largely multidisciplinary and related to accessibility in the digital society. With increasing attention in society, the field is also a source of abundant new job opportunities. Education, legislation, and policies are important to the big picture.
In the session, we will briefly introduce accessibility, legislation, and policies, especially focusing on how the EU Accessibility Directive is affecting now and in the future. We highlight digital accessibility to initiate discussions about the Internet and accessibility. Also, we want to point out new skills that accessibility education can offer to meet future requirements and how to prepare future professionals who strive to create a digital world accessible to all.
