Format
19:00 – 19:45 Topic: Internet Infrastructure Description: Discussing the foundational elements of internet infrastructure, including networks, protocols, and global connectivity challenges.
19:45 – 20:00 Q&A: Open floor for questions and discussion on the internet infrastructure topic.
20:00 – 20:20 3 Breakout Rooms: Participants split into smaller groups to delve deeper into controversial aspects of internet infrastructure:
- Room 1: Should ISPs be allowed to block or throttle certain content? How much control should infrastructure providers have over what we access?
- Room 2: Should internet access be a basic right? If so, who's responsible for providing it — governments, private companies, or NGOs?
- Room 3: Governments want access to encrypted communications to fight terrorism/crime, while activists argue this weakens privacy for everyone.
20:20 – 20:45 Group Representation: Groups present their findings and perspectives on the topics discussed in breakout sessions.
20:45 – 20:55 Session Reflection: Reflecting on key insights gained during the session and identifying lessons learned about internet infrastructure and its implications. Kahoot online game about key abbreviations around Internet governance.
20:55 – 21:00 Next Steps: Discussing expectations and objectives for future sessions, probably answering some questions connected to the program.

Speakers
- Alena Muravska, RIPE NCC
Alena Muravska is a Programme Management Officer on the Community & Engagement team. Reporting directly to the Chief Community Officer, Alena works closely with the Community & Engagement managers on planning, tracking and reporting on the various programme outputs, outcomes and impact. Previously, Alena worked on the Registration Services team of the RIPE NCC as a Senior Member Services Analyst.
Alena has an engineering degree from the National Technical University of Ukraine and is currently finishing a Master's Public Administration programme in Policy and Public Affairs at Leiden University. She is a multilingual speaker and is fluent in English, Dutch, Ukrainian and Russian.
