On May 11th, 2023, Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) did endorse new transparency and risk-management rules for AI systems. The aim of these rules is to promote a human-centric and ethical approach to AI development within Europe. These regulations are intended to ensure that AI systems are used in a manner that is transparent, accountable, and respects fundamental rights. Once approved, it will be the world’s first regulation on Artificial Intelligence.

During the session, Kai Zenner, Digital Policy Advisor to MEP Axel Voss, will provide an overview of the main categories covered in this act. He will also delve into its significance and the impact it holds for the European Union, as well as the future of AI within the EU.
