Session teaser

In this workshop we will demonstrate the GNU Taler payment system. GNU Taler is an open protocol implementing digital cash in Free/Libre Open Source. The system is developed by a global community and is about to be deployed in Europe.

Session description

GNU Taler will re-shape the commercial Internet: Its immediate and privay-preserving micro-payments will enable business models beyond advertising for small-value transactions. Its easy-to-use token-based payments will enable service providers to charge both human and bot users for access.

In our workshop, you will learn how to withdraw digital cash, pay online or in person with improved usability and security. We will also explain how to integrate GNU Taler into new applications and show some highlights of ongoing developments and how you can participate.

Format

We will start with an introductory presentation and then enable hands-on interaction with the payment system, from user-experience to development against the REST API.
